Description:

Join us in Nashville, TN for this Manual-J  training. Now that the ENERGY STAR program and many local codes are requiring Manual-J’s, this is an excellent opportunity to brush up on your skills or add a new service to your company’s offerings.

This is an introductory course designed for folks that do not know Wrightsoft, but have a good understanding of building envelope details and a fundamental understanding of HVAC systems. We’ll take you through the basics of the Manual J & S, in addition to using the Wrightsoft software to produce Manual-J’s from ground zero.

You’ll gain access to online video documentation of the examples we cover in class. This will allow you to go back and review the examples step-by-step, making sure you don’t miss a single detail!

What is Manual-J?

Manual-J is the first step of the HVAC design process. This process ensures that the designer understands the true energy needs of a building, so that a properly sized system can be selected. Due to the presence of new building materials, advanced insulation systems, solar design strategies, and efficient ventilation systems, it’s impossible to use rule-of-thumb sizing methods and achieve accurate results.

Who Should Attend?

Whether you’re an HVAC contractor, an energy auditor, or a HERS rater, this class will provide you a better understanding of proper system sizing and the implications of doing things the “wrong” way.

You’ll leave this class familiar with Wrightsoft software, enabling you to easily perform load calculations for yourself or your clients. Students must bring their own laptop, as you’ll be using a demo copy of Wrightsoft software to do in-class and homework problems.

TEXT Book (Recommended): Manual-J 8th Edition, full edition.

    1. They have a great aquarium. The whole town is really cool. First city in the USA to have free hybrid public transportation.
