This self-paced online Manual-D Training course will provide you with a solid overview of Manual-D concepts, as well as a thorough training on Elite’s RHVAC and Drawing Board modules. This class offers the same material we typically deliver in a live training class.
About Manual-D
Manual D is the name for the protocol used to properly size the air distribution system of a forced-air HVAC system. This protocol, like the Manual J, was developed by members of the ACCA (Air-Conditioning Contractors of America) contractors association, and engineers at ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers).
Completing a Manual-D is a necessary step to ensure that a heating and air system will deliver maximum comfort at peak efficiency. The only way to ensure your system will be able to deliver the correct amount of air to each room of the house is to perform a Manual-D.
Fortunately, the use of computer software makes this relatively easy. However, the process must still be followed accurately if you want accurate results. We generally offer this class immediately following our Manual-J/S classes. After reviewing the overall process and a variety of tables in the book, we demonstrate the use of Elite RHVAC software architecture and functionality.
The Software
We’ve broken down each task in the Wrightsoft software into a video library, so you can reference it as often as you’d like throughout the course. You’ll have the opportunity to perform load calculations on many different sample-houses, then watch a video of the same house being completed by the instructor. You can follow along, step-by-step, and compare your loads to the instructor’s loads when you’re finished. The instructor will also go through the detailed reports, which will allow you to accurately compare your model to theirs. This instant feedback will help you spot your mistakes, and learn as you go!

The training is NOT a “webinar” style training. It is not live. The quantity of material included in this course is far beyond that of an online webinar. These segments have been arranged in an order that facilitates learning the concepts and software, as though you had zero experience. You can choose to skip sections if you are already comfortable with their contents.
